Monel 400 materials chemical properties

Ni68Cu28Fe (Monel 400) is the first nickel-corrosion resistant alloy used in industry. Due to its good comprehensive performance, it has the largest amount of application, the widest application range, and has achieved good use effect, becoming an indispensable corrosion resistance. Structural materials. In order to give it some special properties, a variety of alloy grades have been derived from this, and there is no significant difference between them in terms of corrosion resistance.

Chemical composition and organization characteristics
The chemical composition of Ni68Cu28Fe (Monel 400)  consists mainly of Ni, about 30% Cu (mass fraction), 1% to 2% Fe (mass fraction) and a small amount of carbon. Its structure is a single-phase austenite solid solution with a face-centered cubic structure. Since nickel and copper can be mutually soluble in any ratio, no intermetallic phase is precipitated, and carbides exist under certain heated conditions.
