China’s stainless steel imports from January to July totaled 1.2275 million tons and exports totaled 2.7754 million tons

In July 2024, China’s stainless steel imports were 119,700 tons, a decrease of 11,600 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 8.84%; a decrease of 17,200 tons from the same period last year, a decrease of 12.54%. Among them: China’s stainless steel imports from Indonesia were 95,800 tons, a decrease of 12,300 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 11.38%, and a decrease of 11,500 tons from the same period last year, a decrease of 10.72%.

From January to July 2024, China’s total stainless steel imports were 1.2275 million tons, an increase of 247,800 tons from the same period last year, an increase of 25.30%. Among them: China’s total stainless steel imports from Indonesia were 1.0519 million tons, an increase of 301,900 tons from the same period last year, an increase of 40.25%.

In July 2024, China’s stainless steel exports were 410,500 tons, a decrease of 42,300 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 9.33%; an increase of 50,700 tons from the previous year, an increase of 14.09%.

From January to July 2024, China’s total stainless steel exports were 2.7754 million tons, an increase of 376,700 tons from the previous year, an increase of 15.70%.

In July 2024, China’s net stainless steel exports were 290,800 tons, a decrease of 30,800 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 9.58%, and an increase of 67,800 tons from the previous year, an increase of 30.40%.

From January to July 2024, China’s total net stainless steel exports were 1.5479 million tons, an increase of 128,800 tons from the previous year, an increase of 9.08%.
China’s nickel ore imports from January to July fell 11.88% year-on-year
In July 2024, China’s nickel ore imports were 3.4851 million tons, a decrease of 1.3023 million tons from the previous month, a decrease of 27.20%; a decrease of 1.5363 million tons from the previous year, a decrease of 30.60%. Among them, imports from the Philippines were 3.2734 million tons, a decrease of 1.1239 million tons from the previous month, a decrease of 25.56%, and a decrease of 1.1622 million tons from the previous year, a decrease of 26.2%. Imports from New Cameroon were 0. Imports from Australia were 12,400 tons, a decrease of 128,800 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 50.96%, and a decrease of 4.4232 million tons from the previous year, a decrease of 99.72%.
From January to July 2024, China’s total nickel ore imports were 19.6145 million tons, a decrease of 2.6432 million tons from the previous year, a decrease of 11.88%. Among them, the total import volume from the Philippines was 17.2374 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.589 million tons, a decrease of 8.44%. The import volume from New Cameroon was 915,300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 736,800 tons, a decrease of 44.6%. China’s nickel iron imports increased by 20.14% from January to July
In July 2024, China’s nickel iron imports were 820,800 tons, an increase of 126,800 tons from the previous month, an increase of 18.26%; an increase of 59,600 tons from the previous year, an increase of 7.84%. Among them, the import volume from Indonesia was 792,600 tons, an increase of 131,400 tons from the previous month, an increase of 19.87%; an increase of 62,300 tons from the previous year, an increase of 8.53%. Imports of ferronickel from other regions were 28,200 tons, a decrease of 4,600 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 14.09%; a decrease of 2,600 tons from the previous year, a decrease of 8.45%.

From January to July 2024, China’s total imports of ferronickel were 5.1489 million tons, an increase of 863,100 tons from the previous year, an increase of 20.14%. Among them, imports from Indonesia were 4.9602 million tons, an increase of 981,900 tons from the previous year, an increase of 24.68%. Imports of ferronickel from other regions were 188,700 tons, a decrease of 118,700 tons from the previous year, a decrease of 38.61.

From January to July 2024, China’s total refined nickel imports were 45,918.46 tons, a decrease of 11,365.69 tons from the previous year, a decrease of 19.84%.

Among them, imports from South Africa were 1.4755 million tons, a decrease of 41,200 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 2.72%, and an increase of 10.27% year-on-year; imports from Turkey were 90,700 tons, a decrease of 30,400 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 25.1%, and a decrease of 13.53% year-on-year; imports from Zimbabwe were 126,000 tons, an increase of 34,200 tons from the previous month, an increase of 37.25%, and an increase of 66.67% year-on-year.
From January to July 2024, China’s total chromium ore imports were 12.1575 million tons, an increase of 2.2335 million tons year-on-year, an increase of 22.51%. Among them, imports from South Africa were 10.0996 million tons, an increase of 2.1134 million tons year-on-year, an increase of 26.46%; imports from Turkey were 559,000 tons, a decrease of 54,600 tons year-on-year, a decrease of 8.9%; imports from Zimbabwe were 658,900 tons, an increase of 309,100 tons year-on-year, an increase of 88.36%.
China’s high carbon ferrochrome imports increased by 22.94% from January to July
In July 2024, China’s high carbon ferrochrome imports were 306,100 tons, a decrease of 24,400 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 7.4%, and an increase of 59,300 tons from the previous year, an increase of 24.02%. Among them, imports from South Africa were 172,100 tons, a month-on-month increase of 0.7% and a year-on-year increase of 9.2%; imports from Kazakhstan were 89,300 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 25.27% and a year-on-year increase of 173.09%. Imports from Zimbabwe were 16,600 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 45.21% and a year-on-year decrease of 10.75%. Imports from India were 22,300 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 197.33% and a year-on-year decrease of 36.83%.
From January to July 2024, China’s total high carbon ferrochrome imports were 2.2508 million tons, an increase of 419,900 tons year-on-year, an increase of 22.94%. Among them, the import volume from South Africa was 1.1199 million tons, an increase of 11,300 tons year-on-year, an increase of 1.02%; the import volume from Kazakhstan was 782,800 tons, an increase of 447,700 tons year-on-year, an increase of 133.6%. The import volume from Zimbabwe was 205,300 tons, an increase of 84,100 tons year-on-year, an increase of 69.39%. The import volume from India was 112,000 tons, a decrease of 108,500 tons year-on-year, a decrease of 49.21%.

In July 2024, China’s import volume of scrap stainless steel was 5,320 tons, a decrease of 1,400 tons from the previous month, a decrease of 20.93%; a decrease of 13,700 tons year-on-year, a decrease of 72%.
From January to July 2024, China’s total import volume of scrap stainless steel was 60,200 tons, a decrease of 143,000 tons year-on-year, a decrease of 70.37%.
